Pain Injections
Ultrasound-Guided Injections
Many joint and musculoskeletal problems are treated with injections. Some injections that are given need image guidance to make sure the medicine is placed in the right location. The most common forms of image guidance are ultrasound and x-ray (fluoroscopy). Our physiatrist, Dr. Joseph Mulka, uses ultrasound guidance for these injections to place medication at the source of the problem, without exposing you to radiation. Some common injections that ultrasound guidance is used for include:
Joint injections including hip, shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee, and ankle
Bursitis (hip, shoulder)
Tendonitis
