Nebraska Orthoapeadic Center is proud to serve as the official team physicians for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s student athlete population. We care deeply about our Nebraska roots and the students who play sports for Husker Athletics. You can find our physicians and medical staff on the sidelines of Husker games, ready to help any player who suffers an injury.

Patient Accounts- Accounts Receivable Specialist

Processes account receivable payments and adjustments. Posts insurance and patient payments on a daily basis. Supervises carrier issues and reports problems to the Manager. Makes adjustments to patients and customer accounts. Works with EDI and claims filing and exception reports. Prepares patient refunds and posts patient insurance refunds. Balances all necessary accounts at the end of each day, and prepares deposits for the bank. Posts insurance correspondence relating to deductible and reasons for non-payment. Obtains authorization for GA patients. Assist with credit balance issues. Takes incoming patient account calls and patient account questions. Act as a backup to the Insurance Specialist with regard to weekly statements. Assists in insurance verifications and benefits.

Patient services specialist

Work with patients to obtain demographic and insurance information. Document information within the practice management system. Verify information in EMR system. Print and prepare forms for patient visits

Patient Accounts – Work  Comp Specialist

Research all information needed to complete the billing process including getting charge information from physicians. Verify/review procedure and diagnosis coding for services performed. Review and verify charge information and add appropriate modifiers to EMR. Prepare and submit clean claims to various insurance companies, either electronically or by paper. Evaluate patient’s financial status and establish budget payment plans

medical Coder Orthopaedics

Assigns and sequences ICD-10, CPT, and modifier codes to surgical procedures and fracture care. Review op reports and turns text into coding or transfers codes directly from op reports. Enters and reviews for accuracy charge information into EMR. Prepares and submits clean claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by paper. Identifies and resolves errors with coding. Responsible for identifying and applying modifiers to surgical procedures for PQRS/MIPS reporting

Medical Biller PT

Maintains current knowledge of relevant coding/billing changes as they become effective, research all information needed, and assist in implementing them

Pre-Certification Specialist

Obtain verification of insurance coverage and authorization from insurance for clinical visits and surgical procedures for patients. Communicate patient financial responsibility to the patient prior to the appointment. Communicates necessary patient financial information with appropriate office and billing personnel in an efficient, timely and accurate manner. Documents, within the practice management system, all required information to include financial responsibility. Responsible for all pre-certs of surgeries, visco’s (high cost drug injections), MRI’s, DME.

Radiology Tech

Provide a variety of diagnostic procedures. Operates equipment. PACS. Prepares patient room and equipment. Compliance with state regulatory requirements

Clinical Surgery Scheduler

Book, coordinate, and reschedule surgeries. Relay necessary messages to staff. Greet and register patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner. Verify patient demographic and insurance information and update in the medical record as needed. Maintain and update current information on physicians’ schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly. Answer telephone, screen calls, take messages, and provide information. Answer questions regarding patient appointments. Oversee waiting area, coordinate patient movement, report problems and irregularities.

PA-C or APRN – NOC Ortho Quick CAre PT

Orthopedic Care Clinical knowledge. Liaison with Consulting Physician & Nurses. Surgical assisting and hospital rounds. Core competency of privileges granted. Strong interpersonal & organizational skills.

Clinical RN-LPN-ATC-CMA

Room patients and prepare them for examination by physicians. Prepare for and assist physician with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments. Triage patient phone calls and answers patient questions regarding ailment, appointments and tests. Schedule follow-up appointments, tests, and surgical procedures for patients. Complete patient disability forms and other necessary paperwork. Adhere to infection control/safety guidelines, maintain equipment, instruments and supplies. Assist physicians with recording patient progress notes, issues, diagnostic orders, and transcribing orders. Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and any reaction to drugs or treatment to physician. Prepare exam rooms for use, monitoring supplies, sanitizing exam table and equipment between uses.

Clinical LPN – FT M-F

Room patients and prepare them for examination by physicians. Prepare for and assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments. Triage patient phone calls and answers patient questions regarding the ailment, appointments, and tests. Schedule follow-up appointments, tests, and surgical procedures for patients. Complete patient disability forms and other necessary paperwork. Adhere to infection control/safety guidelines, maintain equipment, instruments, and supplies. Maintain patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA Guidelines. Assist physicians with recording patient progress notes, issues, diagnostic orders, and transcribing orders. Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and any reaction to drugs or treatment to the physician. Prepare exam rooms for use, monitoring supplies, sanitizing exam table and equipment between uses. Maintain organized, clean, efficient, and confidential work area. Perform other duties as assigned.

PA-C or APRN – Orthopaedic spine

    MRI Receptionist- FT

    In MRI, you will be responsible for patients scheduling and coordinating patient appointments and facilitating a smooth check-in process when they arrive.
