Ryan J. Townsend, MS, ATC
Ryan J. Townsend, MS, ATC was born and raised in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. His family relocated to David City during his eighth grade. He was a multi-sport athlete for David City, competing in football, basketball, track, and baseball. After High School he attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where he received his Bachelors Degree in Exercise Physiology. In 1998 he left Nebraska to attend graduate school at Illinois State University, finishing his Athletic Training Masters Degree in May of 2000.
After graduate school, Townsend worked for St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. He worked with their Sports Medicine Outreach Program during the school year, and assisted with their Sports Enhancement Program in the summers. In 2006 he moved back to Nebraska and has been working with the Nebraska Orthopaedic Center Sports Medicine Outreach Program ever since.
Townsend is married with two boys. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys attending his boys’ sporting events, watching football, relaxing at home and hanging out with their Mini-Australian Shepherd.
