On January 2, 2019, our offices will welcome Michael P. Clare, M.D. to our practice. Dr. Clare is a Lincoln, Nebraska native and obtained his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He completed his residency at Creighton University and went on to complete his foot and ankle surgery and lower extremity reconstruction fellowships at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Clare remained at Florida Orthopaedic Institute where he was eventually named Director of the Fellowship program in which he trained. He has 18 years of experience performing orthopaedic surgery and has served as an instructor both with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery – University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa (2007-2018) and at the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery (2002-2005).
Dr. Clare has received many scholarly honors and awards. He is a five-time recipient of the “Best Doctors in America” award, a two time “Patient’s Choice Award” winner, and he received the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons “AAOS Achievement Award” in 2017.
If Dr. Clare’s name sounds familiar to you, it’s because his father, Patrick E. Clare, M.D. (Emeritus) was a founding member of Nebraska Orthopedic and Sports Medicine, P.C. and his brother, David J. Clare, M.D., is one of our renowned Sports Medicine specialists.
